Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well reviewed by various music websites. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of her most well-known recordings. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to do music just for pleasure or to aid in growth but rather, she should take it seriously. Thus, she began writing her own songs. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her affinity with Bjork's style. When her mother told her that the songs she composed could be used to not be famous for her, rather to help individuals to recognize their own value and impact to our world at large, she began playing them on stage. Her mother suggested that she perform her songs publicly to help people realize their own importance and how they impact the world. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. Aurora says she loves to compose songs. According to her, she believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
